How to Track a Package in Apple Wallet

Apple Wallet only shows orders from shops that support it. TrackIt adds any tracking number from any carrier to Wallet, with live lock-screen updates.

Works with 3,000+ carriers worldwide - local, national, and international.

Updated 1 October 2026 · Works on iOS 16 and later, including iOS 26

The short answer

To track a package in Apple Wallet, open the Wallet app and tap Orders. An order is listed there if you paid with Apple Pay at a shop that supports Order Tracking, tapped a Track with Apple Wallet button, or let Mail find the order email on iOS 26. Wallet has no field for typing in a tracking number, so for any other parcel, paste the number into TrackIt and tap Add to Apple Wallet. It then appears under Orders with live status updates, whichever carrier or shop it came from.

Track a parcel in Apple Wallet with a tracking number

Takes about two minutes. Works with 3,000+ carriers, and you don’t need to have paid with Apple Pay.

  1. 1
Enter your tracking number on TrackIt

Go to trackit.international and paste your tracking number into the search field. TrackIt detects the carrier from the number, so you don’t have to choose one for most parcels.

  2. 2
Sign in or create a free account

A free account lets TrackIt save the parcel and send live updates to your Wallet. Sign up takes under 30 seconds with email, Google or Apple.

  3. 3
    Tap Add to Apple Wallet

On iPhone or iPad, tap the Add to Apple Wallet button. On a Mac or PC, scan the QR code with your iPhone camera instead. TrackIt creates a signed Wallet order, not a shortcut or web clip.

  4. 4
Watch the status update on your lock screen

When the carrier scans the parcel, TrackIt updates the order through Apple’s push notification service. The status and estimated arrival show on your lock screen, and the order closes itself when the parcel is delivered.

Apple’s built-in Order Tracking: what it covers

Order Tracking has been part of Wallet since iOS 16. To see your orders, open the Wallet app on your iPhone, tap Orders (or More, then Orders), and tap an order for its status, estimated arrival and a link to the carrier’s tracking page. An order only gets there in one of three ways:

  1. Automatically, for select Apple Pay purchases on iOS 16 or later, when the merchant supports Order Tracking.
  2. With the Track with Apple Wallet button on a merchant’s order confirmation screen, in an app or on the web, on iOS 17 or later.
  3. From an email in Mail, on iPhones that support Apple Intelligence and run iOS 26 or later. Turn on Mail under Settings, Wallet & Apple Pay, Order Tracking, then tap Track in the order email.

Apple’s own support page says Order Tracking “might not be available on all orders” and can depend on the merchant. In practice, that leaves out most parcels: anything from a shop that never built the integration, a marketplace seller, a parcel sent by a friend, or a shipment you only have a tracking number for. That’s the gap TrackIt covers.

Why isn’t my package showing in Apple Wallet?

  • The shop doesn't support Order Tracking. This is the most common reason. Apple only lists orders the merchant sends to Wallet.
  • You paid another way, or on another Apple Account. Automatic orders come from Apple Pay purchases, and to see orders placed on your other devices you have to be signed in with the same Apple Account.
  • Mail tracking is off, or your iPhone doesn't support it. Mail tracking needs iOS 26 and an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, with Mail switched on under Order Tracking in Settings.
  • You only have a tracking number. Order Tracking has no place to type one in. Add it to TrackIt instead.

TrackIt vs Apple’s built-in tracking

The two work side by side. Use Apple’s for orders that arrive in Wallet on their own, and TrackIt for everything else.

Carrier Coverage

3,000+ carriers. One place to track them all.

If a carrier scans your parcel, TrackIt can track it in Apple Wallet. Pick yours to see how.

A real Apple Wallet order, not a workaround

Some tracking apps show your parcel in a custom notification or a widget. TrackIt builds a cryptographically signed .order file in Apple’s own Wallet Orders format and hands it to Wallet with the application/vnd.apple.order content type. The parcel sits in the Orders section of Wallet next to any orders Apple added itself, and shows:

  • The live shipment status, from in transit to out for delivery to delivered
  • The estimated delivery date
  • Push updates when the status changes
  • A link to the carrier’s own tracking page

When a parcel changes status, TrackIt sends a silent push through Apple’s push notification service to every device that added the order. The iPhone wakes, fetches the updated order from our server and refreshes it, without you opening an app.

Frequently asked questions

How do I track a package in Apple Wallet?

Open the Wallet app on your iPhone, tap the Orders button or More, then Orders, and select the order. Orders appear there automatically when you buy from a merchant that supports Apple's Order Tracking, or when Mail finds them on iOS 26. For any other parcel, paste its tracking number into TrackIt and tap Add to Apple Wallet.

Can I add a tracking number to Apple Wallet manually?

Apple's Order Tracking doesn't have a field for typing in a tracking number yourself. TrackIt does that: paste the number from any carrier and it creates a Wallet order for the parcel.

Why isn't my package showing in Apple Wallet?

Usually because the shop doesn't support Order Tracking, you paid another way, you're signed in with a different Apple Account, or Mail tracking is switched off or unsupported on your iPhone. Add the tracking number to TrackIt and the parcel appears in Wallet regardless.

Can I track a package in Apple Wallet without Apple Pay?

Yes. TrackIt works independently of Apple Pay, so it doesn't matter how you paid or where you bought the item. You only need the tracking number.

Which carriers can I track in Apple Wallet?

TrackIt supports 3,000+ carriers worldwide, including UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, Royal Mail, Australia Post, the South African Post Office and Aramex, plus hundreds of regional carriers. It detects the carrier automatically.

Does Apple Wallet package tracking work on iOS 26?

Yes. Apple's Order Tracking runs from iOS 16, and iOS 26 adds Mail tracking on iPhones that support Apple Intelligence. TrackIt works on iOS 16 and later, including iOS 26, and doesn't need Apple Intelligence or Apple Mail.

Can I track a package in Google Wallet instead?

Yes, on Android. Google Wallet's own order tracking reads orders from Gmail and is only available in the US, so TrackIt For Android adds any tracking number to Google Wallet as a pass that updates as the parcel moves.

Is TrackIt available in South Africa?

Yes. TrackIt is available worldwide, including South Africa, and prices show in your local currency. South African carriers such as The Courier Guy, PostNet and the South African Post Office are supported, along with international carriers delivering to South Africa.

Is my tracking data private?

Your tracking numbers are stored securely against your account, used to power live Wallet updates, and kept as a record of your parcels. TrackIt doesn't sell your data or send marketing emails. A delivered parcel stays in your account until you remove it or delete the account. Third-party tracking providers such as 17TRACK may separately keep an anonymised tracking number under their own policies.
