How to turn on package tracking in Google Wallet

Google Wallet gets your orders from Gmail, so the switch lives in Gmail's settings. Here is where it is and where the orders show up afterwards.

Turn it on

Google says the feature is currently only available in the US, so the setting does nothing for orders elsewhere.

  1. Open Gmail's settings and choose the Google account you use in Google Wallet.
  2. Turn on package tracking, along with smart features in other Google products.
  3. Make sure Gmail and Google Wallet use the same Google account.

Find your orders in Wallet

  1. Open the Google Wallet app. Orders arriving soon show on the home screen.
  2. Tap View more, then View more transactions. You might be asked to verify it's you.
  3. Tap Orders to filter the list, then tap an order.
  4. Tap Track package to open the carrier's website.

When Google Wallet has nothing to show: add the tracking number yourself

If Google never found the order, or you only have a tracking number from a seller or a friend, TrackIt fills the gap. Go to trackit.international/android, paste the number, sign in and tap Add to Google Wallet. TrackIt detects the carrier from the number and keeps the pass updated as the parcel is scanned.

Common questions

Where is the package tracking setting?

In Gmail's settings, under your account, next to smart features in other Google products.

Do I need Gmail for Google Wallet order tracking?

Yes. Wallet reads orders from Gmail. Without Gmail, use TrackIt, which only needs the tracking number.

I turned it on and nothing appeared. Why?

Check that you're in the US, that the order email is in that Gmail account, and that the shop is supported. Add the tracking number to TrackIt if it still doesn't show.
